St. Patrick’s Day Celebration
On the Saturday closest to March 17th, Wisner residents and visitors alike take to the streets to become “Irish For a Day”.  A 5k run-walk starts off the celebration, followed by a parade through the heart of town.  Great food, refreshments, music and fun help carry you through the remainder of the day-long celebration.

Lions Club Rodeo and Junior Livestock Show

Held in either late June or early July, the annual Wisner Jr. Livestock Show and Wisner Lions Club Rodeo are big hits in this part of Nebraska.  The livestock show features plenty of 4-H competitions for kids, a hot dog eating contest, a barbecue, road rally, poker run, junk wars, and plenty of other activities, as well as top musical entertainment.  The rodeo involves two shows that take place the Friday and Saturday of the Jr. Livestock Show. Top local and area cowboys take part in McKay Rodeo competition. The event features a Saturday drawing in which one lucky ticket-holder drives off in a new vehicle. Also featured are the famous Lions Club burgers, which are grilled and served both nights.

4th of July Celebration
The Wisner Volunteer Fire Department presents an evening of fireworks on July 3rd in the Wisner River Park as a rousing prelude and jump-start for Independence Day celebrations throughout the area.  

Cuming County Fair
The 2019 Cuming County Fair is set for the weekend of August 8-11 in West Point, Nebraska.  County fair season in Nebraska is a series of county-wide celebrations that reach out far beyond county lines.  The Cuming County Fair features fun for the entire family including children's activities, live entertainment, music, horse show, rides, Classic and antique tractor show, tractor pull, pie baking contest, demolition derby, commercial vendors, a wide variety of food and attractions.

Thunder By the River
One weekend in August the ground trembles and engines roar as the Thunder By the River Extreme Nationals Truck & Tractor Pull rolls into Wisner.  Fans from around the country and outside our borders make the trip to Wisner to witness and enjoy the excitement of extreme pulling at its finest.  Once you see it you’re hooked.  So make plans to be among the crowd for 2 nights of excitement when Thunder By the River brings the national spotlight to Wisner.

Last Fling ‘Til Spring
If you love cars, you will want to be in West Point for the Last Fling ‘Til Spring.  Hundreds of vintage classics, muscle cars, hot rods, and trucks will line the streets one weekend in September, competing for awards and the admiration of all.  Food, refreshments, music and fun as well.
