Mayor

On behalf of the City of Wisner, I want to thank you for visiting our website.  This updated website is one of several steps that we are taking to make our City operations more efficient and attractive to residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

Founded in 1871, Wisner is a vibrant community of nearly 1200 people located in the heart of cattle country in Cuming County in Northeast Nebraska.  Wisner’s strength lies in its people and their core values of faith, family, friends, hard work, and a loyalty to their community, their state, their nation, and their world.  It’s a wonderful place to call home, and a welcoming town to visit.

While our people know how to work hard, they also know how to enjoy life, and Wisner and its surrounding area provide many opportunities to do just that.  Our parks and the Elkhorn River offer recreation and relaxation for people of all ages.  Everyone is Irish for a day at the Wisner St. Patrick’s Day festivities in March.  The rodeo and junior livestock show in June, and the world-class Thunder by the River truck and tractor pull in August draw crowds from nearby and nationwide.  In addition, you can enjoy county fairs, an amazing car show, state attractions, and several other events in Cuming County and nearby.

Wisner has a strong retail and financial district that provides customers with their basic goods and services and more.  The Wisner Care Center assisted living and long-term care facility delivers comfort to its residents.

Excellent education, a low crime rate, numerous churches, beautiful parks, and good neighbors add up to quality of life.  You can enjoy that every day here in Wisner.

Thank you again for visiting our website.
