Farming & Livestock
Basic economic activities of Wisner include farming and cattle and hog feeding. Wisner is known as the livestock center of the state.

The primary retail trade area extends 5 miles west, 6 miles north, 7 miles southeast, and 11 miles south and contains approximately 3,310 people. Retail firms in the community with retail sales permits developed annual net taxable retail sales above $15.2 million in 2015.  3 wholesale firms in the community distribute feeds and wood pallets.
