The rescue squad in Wisner includes 10 Emergency Medical Technicians-AD and a 1st responder. 2 ambulances are owned by the Wisner Volunteer Fire Department.

Franciscan Care Services

Based in West Point, 15 miles southeast of Wisner, Franciscan Care Services is an integrated health system serving Cuming County and the surrounding area. The system includes St. Francis Memorial Hospital, the Dinklage Medical Clinic, and St. Joseph's Retirement Community. Medical clinics are also operated in Oakland, Scribner, and Wisner. A wide range of primary care services are offered as well as wellness programs, exercise gym, support groups, social services, and mental health. Located 20 miles north of Wisner in Wayne, Nebraska, Providence Medical Center is owned by the Missionary Benedictine Sisters. PMC is a 34-bed, acute care facility with a 6-bassinet nursery serving northeast Nebraska. In addition to acute care, PMC provides skilled/swing-bed, intermediate and domiciliary care. PMC provides Medicare certified home health and hospice care and private pay personal care.

The Providence Wellness Center within the PMC, open since 1993, offers members the best in exercise technology. Individual, family, and corporate memberships are available. The Northeast Nebraska Medical Group P.C. resides in the PMCs new addition. Open since 1996, the group is staffed by 5 physicians and 1 physician's assistant.

Wisner Care Center - Elderly Care
Wisner Care Center, built in 1970, is a 38-bed skilled nursing facility approved by Medicare. 14 newly constructed assisted living rooms were opened in May, 2001. Physical therapy and rehabilitation services are provided and adult daycare, hospice care, and respite care are available.
